Description

A 19th century palace restored by the finest artisans in Fez, Riad Sheherazad is typical of the arabo-andalusian style, with its fountains and garden. Its columns, arcades, cupolas, domed ceilings, and Moorish kiosque recall the splendor of the Thousand and One Nights. In its two Moroccan restaurants you will enjoy the finest cuisine the imperial city has to offer.
Fes is the most ancient of the Imperial Capitals, and an archaeological gem as it is the most complete medieval city of the Arab world. This is a place that stimulates your senses, sounds, smells and amazing visual details. More than any other city in Morocco, it seems to exist in a time somewhere between the Middle Ages and the twenty-first century. It is divided into a modern part and an ancient part: the French-built Ville Nouvelle (modern as the name implies) and a quarter or so of Fes's 800,000 inhabitants continue to live in the ancient Medina-city of Fes El Bali, where apart from the existence of electricity and tourists, nothing much has changed since ancient times.
